Location

Our complex is located in the small and quiet traditional village of Drapanias, next to the National Road that connects Chania with Kasteli, providing easy access to most areas of Chania Prefecture. Our Suites are in a lush green landscape, where guests can enjoy peace and relaxation with the sounds of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of Chania’s center. The city is 30km away, and Chania Airport (Ioannis Daskalogiannis) is 45km from our property.

Nearby Beaches

Within a short distance from Meliora (about 1.3km), you will find the beach of Drapanias and by driving along the National Road, you can visit amazing beaches, such as Falassarna (20km), the worldwide-famous Balos Lagoon (20km by road or boat), the award-winning Elafonissi with its pink sand (40km), Kedrodasos (40km), Sfinaki (23km), Kolimbari (12km), and Afraata (14km).

At a distance of 40km, you will also find Paleochora, a large city in the southern part of Chania famous for its various beautiful beaches, excellent food, and wonderful small shops.

Points of interest

Here are some of our suggestions for places of interest that you can visit during your stay in Chania.

Kasteli (5km): This is a large municipality in Chania Prefecture with an organized beach, cafeterias, and restaurants/taverns along its coastal road. There are shops, a bank, a health center, and private clinics. It also has an excellent Archaeological Museum.
Rokka and Kera (7km): These are two beautiful, traditional villages famous for the Gorge of Rokka, the Byzantine Fortress of Rokka in Kissamos, and the archaeological site, where various cultural events take place in August with a large turnout of people from all over Crete and Greece.
Potamida (4km): This is a nearby village ideal for walks by the river and its natural pyramids, also known as ‘komolithoi’.
Milia (15km): This is a traditional settlement known throughout Crete, chosen as a top destination by nature lovers. It has many paths for nature walks, taverns with delicious traditional food, and incredible views.
Samaria Gorge (55km): This is the largest gorge in Crete and one of the most famous in Greece, with a length of 16km! Every year thousands of people from all over the world visit it to admire the natural beauty and the variety of flora and fauna. It is easily accessible, but it takes several hours to cross it.

– Right next to the beach and 3km from Meliora, Akrogiali Tavern is famous for its fresh and delicious fish.
– By Drapanias Beach, you will find taverns for fresh fish and seafood as well as the bar Ble for coffee, drinks, and food.
– In the port of Falassarna, you can visit the famous Kapetan Nikolas Tavern, where you can order fresh fish and seafood.
– In Kalyviani (12km), on the way to Balos Beach, it is worth dining at the Gramvousa Tavern, famous for its good food.
– In Kolybari (12km), there are many good taverns/restaurants for lunch and dinner by the sea.
– In Sfinaki (23km), after you cross the famous Falassarna Beach, you will find many taverns by the sea with fresh fish.
